With the potential pending sale of champion sire Savabeel’s Gr1-performed half-brother Arlington, Tamalee Farm principal Bruce McHugh knows that perhaps the best of his stallion’s progeny is yet to break his duck. Arguably one of the best performed maidens in Brisbane, Naked (Arlington-Lady Godiver, by Quest For Fame) should soon be Arlington’s 20th individual winner if his 6 placings (several in the city) from 9 starts are anything to go by. Rattling home in the recent Toowoomba Guineas where he finished runner-up, Naked was a $4,000 yearling purchase who has already earned almost $40,000 for trainer Barry Lockwood and his wife Karen ahead of a planned tilt at the Gr3 Grand Prix Stakes during the Winter carnival. Arlington, along with a number of weanlings, yearlings and mares in-foal to him, will be auctioned at Tamalee Farm in Tamworth on Sunday, May 6.
